Leke Adeboye who is the last son of Pastor Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeeemed Christian Church Of God took to his instagram page sharing a post to caution Nigerians on their spending this Christmas season as he says they should remember that January has 5 weeks, first fruit month, new school uniform and schools fees for the children.
However, Daddy Freeze took to page as well condemning his post as he tells him to stop misleading a poor woman who asked that Leke Adeboye explained what he meant by first fruit.
See his posts below:
First fruit can NEVER be justified in Christianity. Jesus NEVER collected it neither did the disciples. - Leke, you are misleading this poor woman @veronicaadejumo. - Please Leke, can you show us, with scriptural proof, anywhere in the Bible where Christians paid their first salaries to pastors, Christ or his disciples as first fruit. - The Bible clearly states that Christ is the first fruit from the grave and God has placed all authority under him, if he is the first fruit and has all authority, why then do you override his authority, by doing things in his name that he NEVER AUTHORIZED? - I see it as cruelty of lofty proportions that any Church enterprise should demand the entire salary of the first month of the year from believers, especially with the level of hardship the country is currently facing. - Lest there be any doubt that His resurrection fulfilled the Feast of Firstfruits, Paul tells us explicitly that Christ is the firstfruits of those who will be raised from the dead! - ◄ 1 Corinthians 15 ► New International Version But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For he “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.
