It is tears and mourning for the family of an ASUU executive member after his son died in a terrible bike accident.
Usaamah died in a bike accident alongside another victim
Usaamah, son of Dr AbdurRasheed Adetokunbo Adenowo, the Welfare Officer of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Lagos State University (LASU) chapter has died in a fatal motorcycle accident alongside the man carrying him.

It was gathered that Usaamah who is a lawyer, employed the service of the motorcyclist on Sunday night but they never made it to their destination. They got involved in a fatal accident at Volks bus stop along the Lagos-Badagry expressway.

The 25-year-old lawyer and the okada rider were hit by a trailer while trying to avoid an oncoming Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) that drove against traffic, The Nation reports.

An eyewitness said, according to The Nation: "The reckless SUV driver drove the wrong way to avoid heavy traffic on the other lane. The okada rider, in a bid to avoid head on collision with the SUV, unknowingly turned to a speeding trailer. That man (Usaamah) and the okada rider were hit by the trailer. Both of them died on the spot."

According to Adebanji Adeyemi, a PhD student and friend of Dr Adenowo, a soldier saw Usaamah’s Identity Card, traced the address on it to his home to inform his parents.

He added: "The okada rider has been buried. Usaamah was buried earlier today (yesterday) at Isashi in Ojo Local Government."

Adeyemi, who taught the late Usaamah English language at Vanguards Academy, a secondary school in Ijebu-Ishiwo, Ogun State, described him as a gentle and intelligent person.

"He studied Law at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Kwara State. He was on his Master’s at the University of Ibadan (UI), Oyo State. He was working with a law firm in Surulere. He was coming to Masha where he stayed with someone due to the distance from his parents’ house and the perennial traffic along the Badagry Expressway. I am devastated by his death."
