The university’s spokesman, Mr Ademola Adekoya, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, saying their dismissal was based on the decision of the governing council of the university which also approved the promotion of 49 other lecturers and 200 non-academic staff into various positions.
The sacked lecturers are: Dr Ayoola Sunkanmi Odubunmi, (associate professor, Department of Economics); Dr Isiaka Ajani Ogunwande (associate professor, Department of Chemistry) and Dr Emmanuel Orilade Gbeleyi, (Lecturer II at the Department of Anatomy, Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM)).
Dr Odubunmi was reportedly caught on camera harassing his student in his office on a Saturday. Reports said the victim had repeatedly turned down his many sexual advances until he invited her to his office that Saturday afternoon to rewrite a paper she failed.
It was gathered that the victim sought the help of a non-governmental organisation before proceeding to his office to help track the lecturer so as to have genuine evidence against him.
A surveillance gadget was allegedly placed on the student while the NGO stationed the laptops connected to the spy camera to monitor what would happen between the lecturer and the student.
Dr Odubunmi fell for the trap as he was said to have removed his shirt and started cuddling the student from behind after giving her papers to rewrite the exam he invited her for.
He was in the act when the university security officials and the NGO representatives moved in and effected his arrest SHARE THIS STORY USING ANY OF THE BUTTON BELOW ⬇ PLACE YOUR TEXT ADVERT BELOW ⬇⬇⬇
