The minister had resigned after admitting that her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) exemption certificate was forged.
In her resignation letter, Adeosun said she didn’t know the certificate was falsified as she relied on associates to obtain it after she returned to the country from the United Kingdom.
“It was a touching moment for everyone and people were in tears. She arrived the office that Friday at 10am and worked till she left at exactly 11pm,” the source told TheCable.
PUNCH reports that the ex-minister was sighted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Saturday morning where she boarded a British Airways flight.
The flight was said to have taken off by 8:05am.
In a statement released on Friday, President Muhammadu Buhari announced that he had accepted her resignation letter.
Adeosun was appointed as the minister of finance in November 2015.
