Speaking during the opening ceremony of the training programme for Chief Executive Officers and directors of private security guard companies, the CG stated that training of private security outfits will now be closely monitored by the government.
“To achieve the objective of closely monitoring training of personnel of Private Guards Companies, I have approved the use of the Corps’ training facilities spread across the country,” the NSCDC boss stated.
Muhammadu said it was pertinent to reposition the Private Security Guards sector to enable it to play a more effective role in the emerging national security strategy.
According to him, the myriad of security challenges facing the country had overstretched the capacity of government’s security agencies.
He said reforms were being introduced into the security architecture of the country, stressing that “the reform is intended to be deep, far reaching and will be a win-win for government objectives, the society and practitioners in the sector.”
Speaking at the event, the President of Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria, Mr. Davidson Akhimen, said the training was timely, considering the role of the PSGCs with three million personnel in maintaining security of Nigerians.
“By the end of the training, we would have had a robust interaction that will improve security of the country,” he said. SHARE THIS STORY USING ANY OF THE BUTTON BELOW ⬇ PLACE YOUR TEXT ADVERT BELOW ⬇⬇⬇
