According to a report by The Standard, Dr Paul Koigi Ngugi was found dead in his car that had been parked at the KNH parking yard long after he had gone missing.
He was on duty on Saturday night. His colleagues at the institution said he left for home and had not complained of any complications.
When he failed to go home as usual, his family got curious and started searching for him. They later went to KNH police station and reported that he was missing.
It was until when security guards at the hospital were conducting normal patrols at the yard when they found the car still parked on the same spot.
They told police they realized Dr Ngugi was on the steering but lifeless. He had locked the car doors and windows.
Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome said the guards called police who and broke the doors to remove him.
"They thought he was alive and broke the doors to remove him but fellow doctors who came to witness confirmed that he was dead," said Koome.
Koome said they are yet to know cause of death.
Other colleagues say they suspect he may have opened his car's AC to warm himself before leaving leading to the death.
"Let us wait for the autopsy to reveal the cause of the death," said one of his colleagues.
Dr Ngugi had graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from Kampala International University (KIU) in 2014 and was a member of the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
