A jury heared that the police officer had earlier bedded the housewife star of the video himself.
According to Daily Star UK, the then-married Sgt Adrian Pogmore, 51, had also photographed the brunette and her husband having s*x.
The officer was part of a three-man helicopter crew who hovered over the couple filming their antics for 13 minutes.
The "brazen" woman strolled out of her house naked and waved at the chopper.
She then performed oral sex on her husband in front of the £4m helicopter's state-of-the-art camera.
The couple – in their 40s – had s*x in four different positions on the patio knowing they were being filmed, Sheffield Crown Court heard.
Kate Batty, prosecuting, said the pair later admitted they had decided to "put on a show".
Pogmore, who the jury has been told has admitted four charges of misconduct in a public office, gave the husband a copy of the video the chopper recorded of the patio s*x session.
Two other police air officers and two pilots deny misconduct and are on trial.
The court has heard over five years the chopper also filmed naked sunbathers and a nudist camp.
Yesterday Ms Batty told the jury Pogmore had himself had s*x with the swinging housewife who starred in the patio video – and taken pictures while she romped with her husband.
The officer's secret life as a swinger was uncovered after his ex-wife told force colleagues about the chopper film.
When quizzed by internal affairs Pogmore admitted he had been "involved in swinging activity with the couple – watching and photographing them having sex and having s*x himself with the woman".
He admitted he had "instigated" the couple's helicopter sex show.
Police traced the couple – who cannot be named for legal reasons – and they admitted they had been "involved in the swinging, wife-swapping lifestyle for a number of years".
They knew Pogmore well and he "shared their interests".
Ms Batty said: ''They knew he was a police officer who worked in the police helicopter and generally knew the shifts he worked.
''They knew no-one else who worked in the police helicopter.
''They knew they were being filmed and were more than happy to 'put on a show'. 'Adrian Pogmore subsequently gave them a DVD containing the recording.''
The officer – known as "Poggy" – denied keeping any further chopper videos.
But after he had been sacked for misconduct, footage of more nudity recorded by the force's eye-in-the-sky was discovered in his locked drawers at work.
Serving police officer Matthew Lucas, 42, denies three charges of misconduct in a public office while chief pilot Capt Malcolm Reeves, 64, has pleaded not guilty to two.
Police officer Lee Walls, 47, and chopper pilot Matthew Loosemore, 45, deny one each.
