The coffins of some of the people killed by Fulani herdsmen
Following the brutal massacre of about 75 people by killer herdsmen in two communities in Benue state on January 1st and 6th, the state has given the victims a state burial.
The burial took place at the Industrial Layout, along Naka Road, Makurdi. Most of the victims are mainly women and children.
Government offices, commercial banks, markets and schools were closed the state capital in observance of the work-free day earlier declared by the State Government in honour of the victims.
Governor Samuel Ortom had also declared three days of mourning for the victims of the attacks on communities in Logo and Guma Local Government Areas of the state.
