Sport Update: La Liga leaders held despite goals from Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez

Barcelona and Celta Vigo shared the spoils in a thrilling lunchtime clash at Camp Nou.
The Galicians broke the deadlock with a razor-sharp break in the 20th minute, Iago Aspas racing past Barcelona’s static, high-line defence and crossing for Maxi Gomez, who was denied by a sensational Marc-Andre ter Stegen save, but Aspas converted the rebound.

However Barcelona levelled just two minutes later when Lionel Messi slotted home from Paulinho’s pass, despite Luis Suarez’s best efforts at bungling the move.

Messi hit the post after a Suarez effort was blocked as Barcelona created various openings but failed to net again in the first half.

Eventually they went ahead when Messi’s sublime pass played in Jordi Alba, who cut the ball across for Suarez to blast home from close range.

Celta levelled a now thrilling game when Aspas raced down the right and squared for Maxi Gomez to smash past Ter Stegen.

At the other end some Messi magic played Pique in but instead of finishing first time he tried to round the goalkeeper and hit the post.

Ter Stegen made a wonderful save to deny Pione Sisto in a breakneck clash, which leaves Barcelona five points clear of Valencia before Los Che play later.
