Anthony Joshua explains how DEFEAT to Deontay Wilder would make him more like Muhammad Ali

The WBA and IBF champion has been tipped to test his mettle against the Alabama-born boxer after defending his belts against Carlos Takam last month.
But, if he takes on Wilder, Joshua will be putting more on the line than the titles he won from Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley earlier this year.

Joshua boasts an unbeaten professional record which has seen him win all 20 of his bouts by knockout.

The 2012 Olympic heavyweight champion isn’t worried about being beaten by Wilder though.

And he’s drawn a parallel between himself and legendary boxer Muhammed Ali in case that result happens.

"Once you reach an elite level in any sport, you're going to meet stiff competition," Joshua told UAE radio station Dubai Eye 103.8.

"At heavyweight, even the greatest of all time - Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, and Jack Johnson - have taken a loss at some stage.

"But if you lose that does not mean it is the end of you. It is how you come back from that.

"Most heavyweight champions are two or three-time world champions because they've achieved; made a mistake; and come back better. That's just the way life is.

"Losing my unbeaten record will never hold me back from competition because I thrive off it and it makes you a better person in the long run."

WBO champion Josep Parker has been touted as a possible opponent for Joshua if he decides not to fight WBC title holder Wilder.
