Watford score last minute goal to condemn Arsenal to humiliating defeat

Arsenal drop to sixth place on the log despite a 1 - 1 defeat against Watford at Vicarage road. It was the Hornet's first win over the Gunners in 30 years. Per Mertesacker gave Arsene Wenger's side the lead in the 39th minute with a towering header from Granit Xhaka's corner kick. Per Mertesacker celebrates his opener in the game.
Arsene Wenger started the game without Alexis Sanchez in his squad as Danny Welbeck came in his place. He would however limp off with a injury as Watford continued to pr eqess. Alex Iwobi started the game at Vicarage road.

Troy Deeneyualized in the 71st minute from the penalty spot after Hector Bellerin was adjudged to have fouled the man of the match Richarlison. The winner came from former Manchester United man Tom Cleverly who smashed home from inside the six yeard box.

The Gunner's had failed to clear their lines as the midfielder found himself free to score the winner.

Arsene Wenger's side drop to sixth place on the log after eight games as Watford moved to fourth place.
