RRS operatives rescue pregnant woman in labour, rush her to a hospital in Lagos Island (photos)

A pregnant woman who went into labour while in a commercial bus has been saved by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS). The operatives of the RRS attached to Ketu saved the life of the woman who was on her way to Lagos Island.
According to the report given by the RRS via their Facebook page, the pregnant woman who was in her thirties had gone into labour and had called for help upon sensing the baby’s out was out. She sought the assistance of the passengers in the Danfo bus she was in.

The continuous cry for help heard from that direction led the members of the unit by Ketu Alapere footbridge to the bus. Passengers were said to be crying for help all at the same time. RRS operatives rescue pregnant woman in labour.
The RRS operatives took out the pregnant woman and drove her to a private hospital in Ogudu where she was rejected because she was not a registered patient.

As at that time, the poor woman was said to have been losing too much fluid and was taken to Lagos Island Maternity Hospital upon her suggestion. She was instantly received there and taken to the labour room.

Concerned about the well-being of the pregnant woman and at the same time saddled with the responsibility of carrying out their assigned duties, the operatives left her in the custody f=of three volunteers and the nurses. They returned to their duty post to finish the good work they had started there already.
