According to Deccan Chronicle, the girl was lured by the suspects on the pretext of a fake birthday party and made to drink alcohol.
The suspects threatened the girl after the rape and asked her not to reveal the matter to anybody.
The police have arrested the suspects on charges of rape and forced confinement following a complaint from the victim’s father. The suspects and the victim are students of Princeton Engineering College in Ghatkesar.
The incident took place on November 2 at a flat in the Rajiv Gruhakalpa complex in Ghatkesar.
The victim’s family said that as the girl was intimidated and traumatised she revealed the matter only a day ago to her parents. That was why there was a delay in reporting the case to the police.
Malkajgiri ACP G. Sundeep said the suspects who had planned the rape in advance trapped the girl in the name of a birthday party.
“The main accused, 22-year-old Hareesh, and his friends called her for a birthday party. In fact no one in the group had a birthday. They took her to a hookah centre in Ghatkesar, where they sat there for awhile and smoked. Later, they got drunk at an isolated place. They then took her to the flat, and raped her. They made her drunk so heavily that she could not resist them. The prime accused Hareesh's friends, Ajay, Hemanth and Sameer helped him to take the girl to the room and rape her. Another person named Abbas, the owner of the hookah centre, also helped him to commit the crime,” said ACP G. Sundeep.
After r*ping her, the accused threatened her to prevent her from telling anybody.
"The traumatised girl then left the city for her hometown Khammam. She told her parents that she was sick. Though her parents tried to find out what happened to her she did not reveal anything initially. Later, she told her father about the incident. He then came to Hyderabad and filed a complaint with us," said the ACP.
Police said the three suspects were seniors of the victim in college and that's how they knew her.
The three suspects, Hareesh, Ajay, and Hemanth, are now doing BTech.
The other two suspects are friends of the trio.
