The Manchester United coach was furious with referee Matteo Darmian not being given a penalty. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Jose Mourinho Goal reports that there was no indication of his expulsion at the end of the first 45 minutes, Mark Clattenburg sent the Portuguese coach up into the Old Trafford stands at the start of the second period.
And the FA have now published their punishment: “An Independent Regulatory Commission heard that Mourinho accepted the comments he made on 14 October 2016 constituted improper conduct but denied they brought the game into disrepute, in contravention of Rule E3(1).
The Commission found the disrepute element of the charge proven and as well as being fined, Mourinho was warned as to his future conduct. Separate to this, Mourinho will serve an immediate one-match touchline ban after he admitted using abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official and accepted the standard penalty.”
Jose Mourinho Recall that Mourinho was banned for one game and fined £40,000 last year as Chelsea manager after arguing with referee John Moss at a game at West Ham. The source also reports he was almost banned again for comments about referees after a defeat by Southamption last October, but the sentence was suspended for 12 months. Mourinho’s 0-0 draw left them in eight place, eight points adrift of joint leaders Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
