A few years later, reports indicate they met and made up. However, 13 years later in 2016 during the Nigerian Independence Day, Eedris feels there has been no change in the state of the country.
Speaking at the just concluded Mr & Miss Nigeria International pageant which held on October 2 at Ruby Gardens, Lekki, Lagos.
Eedris Abdulkareem had this to say about the state of the country. 13 years later, what is still happening? I wish to use this platform which belongs to the elite to speak to the entrepreneurs, those who want to be superstars and make a name for themselves in the future and also to the press.
I want to say that President Muhammadu Buhari has done a lot in the area of security, which we really appreciate. But security will not put food on the table of Nigerians, it will not change our economy. Therefore we pray that you will rule without bias, and you will take Nigeria to the next level.
Even as we celebrate Nigeria’s independence day, I want to say no one will close our mouth, we will speak the truth whether they like it or not. I am and will always be a proud Nigerian, yet I have to speak about the ills in our society. May Allah bless this country.
Although it seems Buhari’s government wants to ‘Jaga Jaga’, we pray that it does not ‘Jaga Jaga’. Many said I was done for in the music industry, but it is a lie, I am back again. Idris is back again. ‘Jaga jaga’ was released on Abdulkareem’s third solo album in 2004, and turned into a nationwide hit shortly after.
