News Update: Barca come from behind to beat Gladbach

Barcelona made it two Champions League wins from two tries, as they rallied to beat Borussia Monchengladbach TK on Wednesday night at Borussia Park.

Gladbach opened the scoring with a well-executed counter-attack in the 34th minute following a turnover at midfield. Mahmoud Dahoud ran straight at the Barca back line and then split the defence with a deft pass to find an onrushing Thorgan Hazard, whose first-time shot easily beat Marc-Andre ter Stegen to give the hosts an unexpected 1-0 lead.

Luis Enrique's side were pressing hard for the equaliser and it came in the 65th minute when Neymar's delicate chip over the Gladbach defence reached Arda Turan in the penalty area for the Turkey international to fire home first time.

Gladbach would concede again in the 73rd minute, this time from a set piece. Luis Suarez hit Neymar's cross from a corner kick first time and Yann Sommer bobbled the save attempt to allow Gerard Pique to poke home from very close range to make it 2-1.

Barca were without Lionel Messi for their second group stage match, after he picked up a groin injury in last Wednesday's 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid.

With Manchester City and Celtic drawing in Glasgow, Barca are now two points clear atop Group C ahead of an Oct. 19 UCL clash with Pep Guardiola's team at Camp Nou.
