The council Chairman, Alhaji Jimoh Bello, said this in an interview on Sunday in Akure.
Bello said that council had put all necessary machineries in place to ensure that any product sold in the state was not faked or expired.
“We will seize any product without NAFDAC number and anyone that has expired we will burn.
“We also monitor fuel products that come to Ondo State to make sure that they are not adulterated.
“Anybody caught will be sanctioned and fined and the person will pay money into the government’s coffers,’’ Bello said.
Bello said that the fine ranges from N20, 000 to N25, 000, adding that if the offenders persisted in sharp practices, his/ her outlet would be closed for minimum of three months.
According to him, the council will not relent on its mandate to tackle acts of cheating of consumers and causing health hazard.
“We will enlighten and orientate potential consumers to always get receipts for all purchases made so that they can have evidence when contrary things occur.
“Immediately consumers discover any fault in goods bought, they should report to the council and if the seller refuses to yield to our directive, we charge them to court for prosecution.
“Also our service is free of charge and without any attachment of influence,’’ he said.
Bello, however, advised potential buyers to often forward their complaints to the council whenever they discovered something strange.
He said that sellers should be faithful in their daily transactions for better Nigeria that all could be proud of. PLACE YOUR TEXT ADVERT BELOW:>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> How I TOTALLY Got Rid Of my POT BELLY,excess Fat and Overweight In just 2weeks.. Click HERE for Details
